Building Klau in the Open, Week 13: The Klau CLI

Week 13 of building Klau in the open.

Lots of little things this week. That is most of what building software actually is.

A note on the consulting work first. It has been my financial lifeline through every week of building Klau. I don't talk about it much, but it deserves some appreciation. Bootstrapping means you fund the dream with your own work. I'm grateful to have work that lets me do that.

The Klau CLI

The big new thing this week is the Klau CLI.

One reality of selling into this industry is that a lot of haulers run legacy systems that predate modern APIs. They can't just flip a switch and send data into Klau. For a while that was a deal breaker.

Not anymore.

Install the CLI, authenticate, and point it at a folder. It handles the rest: data in, data out, and dispatch operations running. No custom integration work and no waiting on a vendor to build a connector.

The goal has always been that any hauler, whatever they run today, can experience modern dispatch. The CLI makes that possible.

The code is on GitHub.
