Building Klau in the Open, Week 20: A Chrome Extension for Legacy Systems
Transformation. I watched that word get hijacked for years. It usually meant layoffs hidden behind a positive word. I'm taking it back.
Pilots are still running. A clear path has emerged for the legacy vendors that don't offer out-of-the-box integrations. I'm building a Chrome extension that shows Klau's tools directly over their web screens. Their limitations pushed me toward a better experience. I bring the tools to where the dispatcher already works and fill in the forms inside the legacy app for them. Less switching. Less manual entry. The work meets them where they are. A dispatcher's day actually gets better. That's the only kind of transformation I'm interested in.

Out on the trail.
This was also a week of LinkedIn therapy. Monday's reflection gave me more reason to keep posting honestly about the past. No hard feelings. Just owning my own part in a world that was not me. The lessons I took from it have only confirmed the direction I'm headed. Thank you to everyone who connected, messaged, or called after that post. I was frustrated with what was showing up in my feed. In return, sharing my unfiltered thoughts got me fired up again.
Klau is showing early signs of what it can become. The haulers I've worked with so far want more. They want me to keep doing what I do and build more tools to cover more of their stack. I'm still figuring out how to handle that. But I'm more encouraged about the future today than I've ever been. The good kind of transformation. Positive is as positive does.
Week 20. Still building.
