Building Klau in the Open, Week 8: Klau Is a Teammate
Week 8 of building Klau in the open.
I started with no plan, no funding, and no team. What I had was 30 years of knowing what is broken in this industry, and finally the tools to fix it.
Eight weeks later I have a paying customer, a live storefront, a dispatch optimizer running, and a conversation with one of the largest waste companies in North America. I also have a vision I can finally put into words.
Don't think of Klau as a tool.
Klau is a teammate. You onboard it the same way you onboard a person. You teach it your routes, your rules, your customers, and your quirks. You tell it how things work around here. Then it shows up every day and does the work.
The waste industry has run on whiteboards, phone calls, and database forms for 30 years. The software in this space has mostly improved that old model: better dashboards, faster forms. The basic limitation stays the same.
I'm not building a better version of what exists.
I recorded an 18-minute overview this week. It covers everything: the dispatch board, the storefront, the agentic ordering bot and coworker, and the flywheel that ties it all together.
If you move containers for a living, watch the overview.
