Building Klau in the Open, Week 9: An Onboarding Checklist

Week 9 of building Klau in the open.

Contract work took most of my week. That is how bootstrapping works: you fund what you are building with the skills that got you here. Klau still moved forward.

The main progress this week was onboarding. When a new hauler signs up, they now get a checklist that walks them down the happy path. Configure your zones. Set your container sizes. Define your rules. Connect your workflow. Each step brings Klau closer to being ready to work.

Onboarding a teammate takes time. The checklist makes sure nothing gets skipped.

I also had a couple of conversations this week that are shaping how I think about the market. Some haulers already have online ordering: a website, payments, the basics. What they don't have is dispatch connected to the backend they already run. An order comes in, and a person still has to touch it before anything happens downstream.

Klau closes that gap. The haulers who already feel it are the easiest conversations I have.

Daylight saving can't come soon enough. I'm a morning person. I get up early and get work done, and if there is light left in the evening I want to be on a bike.

Where I want to be when there is light left in the evening.

That is the life. More to build next week.
